about

Most of this was recorded 100% analog, straight on to a Tascam Portastudio 02 four-track cassette recorder. Vocal reverb where present is from a toy microphone with a spring in it. Mixed straight from the recorder to a computer. Some of it was recorded on a large and unloveable digital recorder that used 100 meg Zip disks for storage. Written and recorded during a transitional time. Some of the first songs I ever tried to write. Most of these songs were never meant to, and never have been heard by anybody. Some were written/recorded in one improvised take. Never released, just found this burned on a burned CD in a moldy box in the basement. I mixed all these songs down and sequenced them so I could listen to it in my car on a drive upstate for Thanksgiving back in 2001 whilst fully wallowing in my pathetic state. What am I most thankful for? That I moved on from this sorry state of affairs. The album title is likely a reference to "a Charlie Brown Christmas". Definitely not the Thanksgiving special. That was garbage.
Thank you to David Berman for all you did for us.
